Omega loop
The omega loop is a protein motif. It consists of a loop of any length and any amino acid sequence. The only requirement is that residues that make up the beginning and end of the loop are very close together. It is named after its shape, which resembles the Greek capital letter Omega. It may for example form a stabilising interaction between two protein domains in a dimer, as in the enzyme triosephosphate isomerase. ==References==
